DESCRIPTION:\n\nDescription: Organizing a HEMA tournament can seem straight
 forward with sufficient time and resources\; however\, finding qualified r
 eferees is often a challenge. Good referees are crucial for any successful
  event\, and the role demands thorough training\, commitment\, and a deep 
 understanding of fencing theory.\n\nThis two-day seminar will cover the fu
 ndamentals of HEMA refereeing\, combining theoretical knowledge with pract
 ical exercises. Participants will learn essential topics\, including:\n\n 
 	Key aspects of fencing theory as they apply to refereeing.\n 	The impact 
 of rules on fencing styles and strategies.\n 	Best practices for managing 
 bouts\, ensuring fair play\, and maintaining discipline.\n 	Techniques for
  creating a positive and respectful environment for fencers.\n 	Practical 
 scenarios and exercises to build confidence and competence as a referee.\n
 \nSeminar Leader: Berki András\nBerki András\, affectionately known as a
  "HEMAdinosaur" due to his long-standing involvement in the community\, be
 gan his journey in historical fencing back in 2004. His passion started as
  a pastime with friends\, evolving into reenactment\, translating treatise
 s\, and learning fencing through historical manuals. Since 2017\, he has d
 edicated himself to HEMA as a sport and is now a certified fencing coach.\
 n\nThroughout his career\, Berki has explored various weapons\, but his pr
 imary focus remains on the longsword. While he humbly admits that he may n
 ot be the best swordsman\, he is an adept coach and has trained several sk
 illed and successful fencers. Since 2018\, he has been refereeing at both 
 national and international HEMA tournaments. In collaboration with Kriszti
 na Nagy and the HEMAtac team\, he has gained expertise in tournament organ
 ization and officiating. Currently\, he is the president of KRViSE\, a pro
 active fencing association with ambitious goals and a strong roster of fen
